My name is Melissa, also known as Melspace Creative, and I'm a rug artist based in Northwest Arkansas. I specialize in creating tufted rugs and rug art that showcase my unique and whimsical style. My art is often colorful, fun, and heavily influenced by pop art, featuring wild patterns and fun foods. My passion for art began once I made the move back home to Arkansas after 7 years away and began searching for a creative outlet. My curiosity for rug tufting in early 2021 quickly turned into a passion for mixing color palettes and fanciful patterns. I love creating pieces that can bring joy and color to any space, and that’s when Melspace Creative was born

I use the tufting process to turn yarn and cloth into functional, eye-catching art. I use a detachable gold chain for many of my pieces or stretch them onto sturdy canvas so they can be hung up as decorative art. I also create mirrors with tufted frames, as well as conventional household rugs and accent rugs. With yarn, options are endless for creation and I am excited to delve further into the world of fiber art!
