Discover and Tinker with Circuits Every Month

Do you ever think about what it takes to make a light turn on with a flip of a switch? Introducing your child to critical thinking and igniting the spark of learning is an important aspect of development. Once a month, Scott Family Amazeum hosts a Circuit Block Party. This event focuses on introducing families to how circuits of electricity work and encouraging them to create their own circuits. During the Block Party, we dive into questions like, “How does this work?” and take that curiosity to the next level by exploring step-by-step how to create things.

Join us in the Scott Family Amazeum's Tinkering Hub Workshop on the last Sunday of the month from 2 to 4 p.m. to discover the electrifying fun of circuits. At each Circuit Block Party, you can create and tinker with Circuit Block Kits and with guidance from our Amazeum team, you can learn the ins and outs of various tools and materials. This community event is free and requires no registration, however admission to the Scott Family Amazeum is required. Anyone is welcome to come explore circuits, but purchase of a Circuit Block Kit from Curiosity Corner is required to create your own blocks and take them home. Put your and your child’s curiosity and creativity to the test at this block-buster event each month!

The Circuit Block Kits are a one-of-a-kind product designed and assembled by Amazeum team. Each kit includes two completed blocks (one battery block and one light block), as well as all the materials you need to create your own blocks like a switch block. You can purchase a kit at a Circuit Block Party or drop-in to the Tinkering Workshop anytime between 2 and 4 p.m. on the last Sunday of the month to create and tinker with your pre-purchased Kit. Once a month, you and your family can receive step-by-step guidance on building, fixing, and enhancing your circuit blocks with help from our Amazeum team. During the Circuit Block Parties, you will also have access to high-end tools and resources to fuel endless creativity. Stop by the Tinkering Hub on the last Sunday of the month and join in on the fun! If you have pre-purchased a Circuit Block Kit, you can attend the Circuit Block Party without paying for admission. Without the kit, you are required to enter the Amazeum through regular admission.
